Susan Janosz

(1956 - 2003)

Technology in Manchester

Sue Janosz was regarded as one of New Hampshire’s best integrators and trainers; unfortunately she passed away this year. Her loss is felt by many in Manchester as well as across the state. She was involved in numerous statewide initiatives and worked aggressively with Chris Nelson, her collaborator in Manchester to improve the use of technology throughout the Manchester school district.

Technology Impact Award

On December 3, 2003 at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference in Nashua, the NHSTE organization will recognize the contributions of Sue Janosz through a posthumous award in her honor.

NHSTE's Technology Impact of the Year Award recognizes New Hampshire educators who work to:

- provide technological eadership within their district;

- solicit grants and/or community resources for district technology initiatives; and

- support technology within the context of school reform and restructuring.

NHEON Design Team

Sue was an integral part of the development of the NH Educators Online (NHEON) web site, from its initial conception on paper in 1998, to its design and launch in 1999, and then its periodic updating with new educational content. sue at work

She continued her work with NHEON year after year, reviewing content and aligning to NH standards, making suggestions for site improvements, etc. She was an important part of the team of educators who worked to align several hundred MarcoPolo lessons to NH standards.

Her background working in education was invaluable to the web project and her reasoned approach to tasks was equally valued.

Sue was a joy to work with. Her presence is missed by all.
