Course Catalog 2005-06

LESCN offers an extensive menu of professional development courses and workshops for New Hampshire educators. Course topics are varied, as are content areas and grades taught. Registration is available through LESCN, with priority to educators in high need school districts. If you are an educator employed in New Hampshire schools, contact your nearest Local Educational Support Center for registration details.

LESCN (pronounced "lesson") is supported by grants from the New Hampshire Department of Education and sponsored by several districts and other educational stakeholders. It is part of a statewide effort to provide high quality technology supported professional development to educators all across the State.

  LoTi Certified Mentor Training will be offered in 2005-06. Interested NH educators should submit their applications by June 3, 2005 to their local Center. Space is limited. Download the application (Word document) or view it online (web page).

NWEA Training: Understanding and Interpreting Data to Improve Instruction - Learn and be able to teach others in your district how to use data to guide instruction, use Lexile reading scores, adopt Descartes continuum of learning, and determine flexible groupings for instruction. Intel Teach to the Future Essentials Course - 40 hour course that incorporates train the trainer model. Capital Area Center for Educational Support in Penacook from June 26 - July 1, 2005.

CACES Intel Teach to the Future - Teaching Thinking with Technology - Learning instructional strategies for addressing and assessing thinking skills using technology. Capital Area Center for Educational Support in Penacook from July 18-23, 2005.
CACES Introduction to Digital Video - Learn to use the digital video camera, iBoo, and iVideo. Capital Area Center for Educational Support in Penacook from June 28-29, 2005.
CACES Listening to Students and Looking at Student Work to Focus Math Instruction - 3 day workshop focused on careful look at student work and learning math instructional techniques to support struggling math students. Capital Area Center for Educational Support in Penacook from July 11-13, 2005.
SWNHESC Number Theory and Algebra Content for K-3 Teachers - This five day professional development experience will provide primary level teachers with a safe and comfortable place to explore mathematics content. Southwestern NH Educational Support Center in Keene from July 18-22, 2005.
